Fundraiser/ Toy Drive An event to help a local entertainer achieve her dream. On Saturday October 25th, from 3-6 pm at Dowlings Palace 1310 N. Broad Street. A group of performers will come together in support of one another and also for an annual toy drive for one of their own. Keyboard player Adrienne Garner has aspired for years to give back. Some years ago Ms. Garner who has worked with several local artists including The Intruders and the Stylistics lost a child in a fire. She expressed her concerns to Toni Washingtin one of the founders of Healthy Music Matters a division of The American Musician's Resource Network that she really wanted to make a difference and the organization was obliged to help out since they are alway's open to entertainer's with a worthy cause or desire to give back. The show celebrating the Diva's of The 70's, 80's. 90's was the idea of Ms. Washingtin. The show will consist of an all female band with three female singers performing music made popular by artists such as Chaka Kahn, Tina Turner, Roberta Flack, Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige and an array of others from those era's. The band will be led by Keyboard player AND Healthy Music Matters Co-founder Rhonda Lancaster who has worked in the past with LTD as well as other local recording artists. Anyone who shows up with an unwrapped toy will receive a discount off of their ticket. Tickets to this event are $30 and includes refreshments
