Celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day with an afternoon of culture, storytelling, music and dance at Western Spirit Museum on Monday, October 12, 2026. Internationally renowned Yellow Bird Productions will present a special program celebrating the unique spirit and traditions of American Indian cultures. From 3 to 6 p.m., guests can experience stories and traditional Apache flute music from storyteller and flute player Ken Duncan Sr., followed by a presentation from Doreen Duncan exploring the significance of the Apache Rainbow Dance and Apache Bow and Arrow Dance. Champion hoop dancer Talon Ree Duncan will then captivate audiences with a colorful performance featuring images inspired by the natural world, including an eagle, butterfly, turtle, clouds and desert flower, along with interpretation and a land acknowledgement. The celebration will conclude with a reception from 5 to 6 p.m. in Western Spirit Museum’s Sculpture Courtyard, featuring food and beverages. Program admission is $10 for Museum Members and $15 for the general public. Indigenous Elders are invited to attend free of charge.
