Cedars-Sinai Mobile Clinic to Offer Free Back-to-School Vaccinations

Cedars-Sinai caregivers are hitting the road in their mobile medical unit to help children get their back-to-school vaccines and provide free medical care ahead of the school season. Beginning Monday, Aug. 4, the COACH for Kids mobile medical clinic will make the rounds throughout Los Angeles to offer school-aged children all vaccinations required by Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) schools, including DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis) and MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella). LAUSD students return to class on Monday, Aug. 11. The COACH for Kids mobile unit is committed to meeting the immediate medical, behavioral health and community needs of underserved pediatric populations. Services are offered to those who are uninsured or on Medi-Cal. Additional vaccines available through the clinic include Polio, Hib (Haemophilus influenzae), Prevnar 20 (pneumococcal), Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis A and B, Meningococcal ACWY (meningitis), and HPV (Human Papilloma Virus). Beyond immunizations, the mobile clinic offers a wide range of services for children and young adults—from newborns up to age 18—including physical exams, as well as hearing and vision screenings. Staff also help connect families to ongoing medical, dental, and vision care.
