Cappella Cantorum presents its festive Winter Concert at Valley Regional High School on Sunday, December 3, 3:00 - 5:00 p.m., featuring the Masterworks Chorus and Cappella Orchestra, and soprano soloist Abigail Paschke. Music selections include Magnificat (composed by John Rutter) and The Many Moods of Christmas (arranged by Robert Shaw).
The Masterworks Chorus and Cappella Orchestra will be conducted by Simon Holt, Music Director of Cappella Cantorum and the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme, as well as the Founder and Artistic Director of Salt Marsh Opera.
The Winter Concert will be held in the auditorium of Valley Regional High School, 256 Kelsey Road in Deep River. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door ($15 for students 18 & under; children under 6 attend free with an adult ticket purchase). Established in 1970, Cappella Cantorum is a non-auditioned community choral group that provides singers of all ages the opportunity to learn, perform, and share great choral music. In addition to twice yearly concerts and an annual Handel’s Messiah Sing or Listen, the group promotes music education and appreciation through its SummerSings program, vocal training workshops, and other events open to the public. Originally founded to serve the Lower Connecticut River Valley and Shoreline area, Cappella Cantorum now has members from more than 31 communities across the state.
