The Racine/Kenosha Chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace will hold there 3rd annual Bunks Across America build and 2nd Annual BedFest on September 10, 2022 at Bane-Nelsen, Inc., 4019 43rd Street, Kenosha.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a non-profit dedicated o provide beds for kids who are experiencing bedlessness. Any child between 3 and 17 years old can receive a bed, mattress, and bedding free of charge if he do not have a proper bed to sleep in at night.
Volunteers build these beds at periodic Build Days, and Bunks Across America is a day when chapters across the US build beds. We are looking for volunteers 16 years old and up to come and help us build beds that day. There will be 2 shifts 9:00 AM - noon, and 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
The BedFest part of the day includes a touch-a-truck event sponsored by Bane-Nelson, Denny Crane and his wingless sprint car, a bouncy house activity for kids between 3 and 12. Kona Ice and Degrano's Express will be there to sell food. WIIL with broadcast from 10:00 AM - Noon.

For families in need of beds for their kids, apply at https://shpbeds.org/apply/. We serve the area from the Illinois State line to the Milwaukee county line, and from Lake Michigan to Highway 45.
