BUILD: Shoal Table / Stool with Tony Printz

The BUILD program removes barriers to good design by offering multiple points of entry. Each edition partners with an artist or designer to create a limited-edition object that can be experienced through a workshop, take-home kit, or commissioned piece, expanding access and creative connection. For Detroit Month of Design, BUILD will launch with a two-day hands-on workshop where participants learn fundamental design and fabrication skills while creating their own object. A parallel workshop for parents and children will offer a simplified experience that encourages creativity across generations. Buffalo Prescott will also introduce at-home kits and commissioned versions of the project. Kits include materials and instructions, while commissioned pieces are fully assembled. Each format will feature unique details and limited runs, ensuring every edition remains distinct.
