BROWN BAG LUNCH — “I Don’t Quit!” with Pound Puppies Inventor Mike Bowling

Amelia Island’s own Mike Bowling is no ordinary neighbor. He’s the inventor of the world-famous Pound Puppies—a creative entrepreneur whose idea, born from compassion, became one of the most beloved toy brands of all time. His creation sparked a global craze, a hit TV series, a major motion picture, and more than $1 billion in retail sales across 52 countries.
But Mike’s story doesn’t stop at toys.
Now a published author and first-time songwriter, Mike has taken his gift for storytelling in a new direction. His latest endeavor, “Who Rescued Who,” is a moving country song about a veteran battling PTSD who rescues a stray dog—only to discover it’s the dog who rescues him. The song, recorded by rising country artist Ryan Larkins and backed by Red Street Records and Sony, was recently adopted by K9s for Warriors as their official anthem and debuted at the CMA Festival and at the Grand Ole Opry.
During this special Brown Bag Lunch, Mike will share the story behind the song, his journey from working on a Ford assembly line to creating a worldwide brand, and the lessons he’s learned about faith, persistence, and believing in the impossible.
