Our Woodwind Quintet carries forward the legacy of four 21st-century composers: Chen Yi, Emily Doolittle, Adriana Verdié, and Valerie Coleman. These composers not only ground us in their observations and perspectives on humanity but also invite us to feel. Feel the rhythm of the music, to the calling of nature. They are our Harmonic Orators. Carrying and sharing the voices of sacred spaces, nature, dance, and cultural memory. Guided by the ensemble's breath, we are reminded of our interconnectedness.
