Komorebi is a soulful, meditative fusion of hip-hop and mindfulness that explores healing, awakening, and inner strength. Named after the Japanese word meaning “sunlight filtering through the trees,” the album invites listeners into a space of reflection, presence, and transformation. With poetic lyricism, Zen-infused storytelling, and powerful personal truths, Komorebi is more than an album—it’s a sonic dharma talk for the modern soul.
Paired with the release is Born I’s new book, Lyrical Dharma: Hip-Hop as Mindfulness—a poetic, introspective journey through lyrics and lived experience. Part memoir, part meditation guide, it chronicles his evolution from performing behind a façade of bravado and materialism to expressing joy, vulnerability, and insight. With a foreword by Alice Walker, Pulitzer Prize–winning author of The Color Purple, this book is both a companion to the music and a powerful stand-alone reflection on conscious creativity.
