The North Tampa Dems will be hosting a special event, Black Heroes in American History, A Public Outcry of Knowledge, on Tuesday April 4th, 7 p.m. at the Maureen B. Gauza Library located at 11211 Countryway Blvd, Tampa, FL 33626.
Hosting the event will be noted Author/Publisher and expert on Black History, Ersula K. Odom.
Pastor Moses Brown will be giving a historical music performance.
Among the speakers sharing 7–10-minute stories of famous or unsung black heroes in American history will be Angela Birdsong, host of Tampa Bay Politics on N-Touch News, N-touchnews.com and Sean Shaw, founder of People Over Profits and the first African American nominee for Attorney General in the history of Florida. This event aims to be a beacon of enlightenment to the public offering various valuable contributions that Black Americans have made and to show support to protect all aspects of AP African American Studies from Gov. DeSantis's censorship of these specialties in colleges throughout Florida.
