Best of the Rest: Staged Readings of the Runners Up from the 8 Tens @ 8 Festival
Each year the Actors' Theatre 8 Tens @ 8 Short Play Festival reading committee selects 24 plays to send to that year's 16 directors. The plays chosen by directors receive a full production in January/February, and the 8 runners-up are produced as script-in-hand staged readings to make up Part 3 of the Festival. The Best of the Rest gives more of the winning scripts from 8 Tens @ 8 a chance to hit the stage, and the staged-reading format provides a different kind of theater experience for the audience.
