Beginning Oil Painting Workshop
Join us for this fun dive into oil painting! Students will learn the basics of oil painting, color mixing and composition. We will learn by painting a simple still life set-up. By the end of the class each student will have a completed painting to take home. NO experience is necessary.
Wednesday April 3rd, 10am - 1pm
Fine Artist, Lauren Kindle will explain many of the traditional “rules” of oil painting, however her teaching method values experimentation, intuition, and playfulness over perfectionism. We will learn from our mistakes, encounter “happy accidents” and have fun!
Class price: $125 per student. ALL materials are provided
About Lauren Kindle:
Lauren is a painter/fine artist who lives and works in Easton, PA. She was the recipient of the 2017 Artist of the Year from the Arts Community of Easton. That same year, she was awarded a partial scholarship for an artist residency with JSS in Civita, which gave her the opportunity to paint for 2 weeks in Civita Castellana, Italy. She earned her Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Art and Classics at Hampshire College in 2003
In addition to painting, Kindle is involved in her local arts community. For the past 7 years, she has managed a weekly figure drawing group at Lafayette College for local artists. She teaches private painting lessons and workshops from her downtown studio in Easton. She also teaches art classes at the Banana Factory in Bethlehem, PA.
