Be The Dance Party!
Join us for Be The Dance Party!! The Sanctuary is hosting a family-friendly daytime dance party, which will kick off around 3pm. But before the dancing begins, at 2pm we will have a panel discussion with local producers who use JOY as a tool for social change. How can we use dancing, costumes, flags, and parades as activism? After the conversation, we'll dress up - think glitter!! - and then get down to the fresh sounds of local musicians from No More Genre, a collective of DJs who have a show broadcast on the Sanctuary's radio station, WOOC 105.3 FM. This is the perfect opportunity to relive your dance party days but in the daylight, and in a safe space where you can teach the new generation all of your funky moves! Let's learn how we can be joyful and create community as we we protest the many challenges of our day.
