Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church Spring Oratorio “A Program of Women Composers”
The Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church is pleased to invite you to their Spring Oratorio, to be held on Sunday, March 26 at 4 PM in the church sanctuary. The concert will feature selections from women composers including "Requiem" by Eleanor Daly, "The Tree of Peace" by Gwyneth Walker, "I am the Wind" by Elaine Hagenberg, "I See the Heaven’s Glories Shine" by Andrea Ramsey, and more. The pieces are stirring, inspiring and simply beautiful, with thoughtful lyrics including the poetry of Emily Bronte and E.E. Cummings.
The program will be performed by Christine Chang, piano, Chamber Orchestra, Oratorio Choir, and Knox Bell Choir, with Christopher Fortin directing. No reservations are required, and there is no charge for the program, although a free-will offering will be taken.
Chris Fortin, Director of Music Ministries at BRPC, said of the program “It shouldn’t be news that we are highlighting all women composers, but it seems increasingly important to recognize them in this current climate.”
