Barbie Doll Dress Up
Barbie-lovers of all ages are encouraged to attend this free event at the Nora Branch library on April 8, 2023 from 2-4 pm to drop-in to help The Barbie Girls Project dress up dolls that will be distributed to low-income families in Rochester, NY. Participants are welcome to bring their unwanted dolls (in gift-giving condition) that they’d like to add to the selection of dolls already received.
During the event, participants may purchase refreshments and doll items from The Barbie Girls Project’s pop-up shop, the proceeds of which funds their workshops and doll donations to schools and youth-based organizations around the country.
The Barbie Girls Project is a for-profit social enterprise that evolved from a passion project in 2010 to a minority woman-owned LLC in 2022, having donated over 1500 dolls to non-profits and families in Central Indiana and beyond, and has been featured in the Get Thrifty Podcast, as well as in This Time Magazine. In addition to hosting workshops with organizations such as The Girl Scouts of Central Indiana, The Barbie Girls Project also sells doll-inspired items and downloadable activities for youth to cultivate friendship, self-esteem, and culture through doll play.
