Barbie: An American Icon
On Wednesday, January 24 at 7 p.m. in the Mackay Room, historian Rick Feingold takes us on a journey to learn how the world’s most loved doll came to be. In the 1950s children could only play with baby dolls. Ruth Handler decided to invent a doll with adult features. The doll named Barbie was a “Teen-age Fashion model.”
