On Thursday, June 5, 2014, Banfield Pet Hospital and American Humane Association will roll into Philadelphia aboard a new 50-foot Red Star® rescue vehicle, recently dedicated for emergency response throughout the Northeast region, to host the second of three free emergency preparedness clinics for pet owners. The clinic will provide pet owners with tips on how to protect their pets, as well as familiarize them with the services provided to their area by the newest vehicle in the Red Star rescue fleet in the event of an emergency. The event includes an opportunity to tour the truck.
Pet owners attending the clinic will learn several helpful tips to prepare their pet for safety, such as how to create a disaster kit for pets and how a microchip can help ensure a pet's safe return. Microchipping is the only permanent pet identification method that cannot be altered or removed and is marked with a unique code linking the pet back to its owner. The first 25 attendees will also receive a voucher good for a free microchip for their pet, redeemable at the Banfield Pet Hospital in Philadelphia.
