Back-to-School Resource Fair

The Healing Sanctuary, in collaboration with Kristi House, Atala Montessori School, MUJER, Start Off Smart, V1 Church, Toy Drive N' Events, Survivors Pathway, and Wesley House Family Services, is proud to host its annual Back-to-School Resource Fair, bringing together families, businesses, nonprofits, volunteers, and community leaders for a day dedicated to preparing local students for a successful school year. This free community event was created to help remove barriers that many families face as they prepare for the new school year while also connecting them with organizations that provide valuable support throughout the year. By bringing dozens of community partners together in one location, families can learn about educational programs, health and wellness services, youth opportunities, financial and social services, family support programs, and other resources available throughout South Dade. Attendees can enjoy a fun-filled morning featuring free backpacks and school supplies (while supplies last), community resource booths, educational information, family-friendly entertainment, games, children's activities, music, food, giveaways, and raffle prizes. Families are encouraged to RSVP in advance to help organizers prepare for attendance and to receive a raffle entry. This event is made possible through the generosity of community partners, local businesses, sponsors, volunteers, and donors who believe every child deserves to begin the school year with the tools and confidence needed to succeed. Their support allows The Healing Sanctuary and its partners to provide resources at no cost to the families who attend. Community participation is one of the most important parts of this event. The Healing Sanctuary is currently seeking volunteers to assist before and during the event with setup, registration, welcoming guests, children's activities, backpack distribution, crowd support, and cleanup. Whether you are an individual looking to give back, a student seeking volunteer hours, a civic organization, church group, or corporate volunteer team, there are opportunities for everyone to get involved. The Healing Sanctuary is also welcoming exhibitors from local nonprofits, healthcare providers, schools, colleges, government agencies, businesses, and community organizations interested in connecting with families and sharing information about their programs and services. Exhibitors play a vital role in helping families discover resources that can benefit them long after the event ends. Businesses and community members who are unable to volunteer can still support the event by becoming sponsors, donating school supplies, backpacks, giveaway items, or helping spread the word throughout the community. Every contribution, large or small, helps ensure more children start the school year prepared and ready to learn.
