Local nonprofit, United Food Bank, is helping families have access to food essentials that will keep students healthy and ready to thrive throughout the year. On Aug. 2 from 9 – 11 a.m., United Food Bank will host a back-to-school food drive at its Volunteer Center (358 E. Javelina Ave).
The recommended food items for donation include spaghetti rings with meat, beef ravioli, dried fruit medley, oatmeal packs, jelly-squeezer, peanut butter, granola bars, trail mix, crackers, pop-top canned chicken, and chili with beans. All donations will support United Food Bank’s Kids Pack Program, which provides children with nutritious, easy-to-eat food to take home on Friday. This helps ensure kids have food to last them over the weekend.
United Food Bank is also accepting monetary donations, which can be donated online at https://give.unitedfoodbank.org/campaign/697942/donate?_gl=1*2oiqoz*_gcl_au*MTM4MDI1MzExNS4xNzUwNzIyNTEx. For more information, visit https://unitedfoodbank.org/.
