Babysitter CPR, First Aid, and Safety training at Las Positas College

This course can equip you with the knowledge to keep the kids in your care safe. A mix of instruction and practice, as well as the opportunity to walk through real life scenarios, will help you prepare for the unexpected. This is a recognized CPR and First Aid class. This course will cover CPR basics, including how to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for child and infant and care for a choking child or infant. In addition, students will learn how to recognize and treat sudden illness, wound care, treatment of anaphylactic shock (use of epi-pens), and how to respond to mechanical and head injuries. In this class, students will also cover situational awareness as it pertains to safety and protection. Students will be given the opportunity to work through specific scenarios and by the end of the course, should have a good understanding of basic level of care. Successful completion of this course will earn the student a nationally recognized Babysitter CPR and First Aid Certificate. Age range: 12+
