Attendees will meet the Volunteer Services team, learn about Avow’s hospice, palliative care and grief support programs, explore volunteer roles matched to their interests and schedules, and complete an application on site. Staff will review next steps including fingerprinting, TB testing, orientation and training. Volunteers sit with patients, offer caregivers respite, assist behind the scenes or share a special talent. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, The Collaboratory, 2031 Jackson St., Fort Myers.
