Austin Symphonic Band: "Old, New, Borrowed, Blue"
Don't miss the Austin Symphonic Band's upcoming concert: "Old, New, Borrowed, Blue." This exciting program includes the world premiere of “(Delusions of) Grandeur" by Christopher Lowry, winner of the first annual Young Composers' Contest. The piece showcases the talent and creativity of this young composer, who has been invited to the concert to receive his award.
The concert will also feature the first performance of “Hill Country Festival” by Clifton Jones, composed in honor of Bill Haehnel’s 20th anniversary as ASB’s Assistant Conductor.
You’ll hear a variety of other great music, from Wagner’s majestic "Fest March" from "Tannhäuser," to the jazzy "New Wade ’n Water" by Hailstork, to Ticheli’s dazzling "Blue Shades." Come and enjoy an evening of musical excellence with the Austin Symphonic Band!
