Austin Open Mic Musician Show - Voting Now Open!

The Austin Open Mic Musician Show is excited to announce that voting is now open to select the finalists for our upcoming showcase on Saturday, July 13, 2024. This inaugural series, which began on May 7, 2024, has already seen four fantastic preliminary productions at the Pavilion at Givens Park and Kenny Dorhams Backyard. This season has been all about celebrating emerging solo singer-songwriter acts, each performing their own original material. The first two preliminary shows were a tremendous success, featuring a diverse range of talented artists. Now, as we gear up for the final showcase, we need your help to select the top five performers who will compete for a chance to win a $200 prize and the opportunity to perform a 25-minute set. Event Details: • Final Showcase Date: Saturday, July 13, 2024 • Time: 7pm - 10pm • Venue: Kenny Dorham’s Backyard • Address: 1106 E 11th St, Austin, TX 78702 • Admission: Suggested Donation $10 The first season of the Austin Open Mic Musician Show has featured four preliminary shows, each providing a traditional open mic format where artists sign up to perform 12-minute sets. Our unique format allows for up to 12 performances per show, with additional performers on a waitlist getting a chance to take the stage if time permits. Participants have had the opportunity to engage with, learn from, and mentor fellow songwriters and musicians. The direct interaction with the audience has allowed performers to build meaningful connections and expand their fanbase. Our partners at Make Every Media have been onsite, capturing recordings of each performance. These recordings are provided to the artists for their own use and are also shared on our YouTube page (with the performers’ consent) to promote the artists, the community, and The Austin Open Mic Musician Show. Highlights of the Final Showcase: • Top five performers will be selected from the preliminary open mic shows through public voting. • Each finalist will perform a 25-minute set and receive $200 for their performance. • The event will be held at the vibrant and artist-friendly venue, Kenny Dorham’s Backyard. • Enjoy a diverse lineup of emerging solo singer-songwriters showcasing their original music.
