Arts Wayland Presents: The Harry Skoler Quintet
The esteemed Arts Wayland Berklee Faculty Jazz Series, under the Direction of Neil Olmstead, Berklee College Professor, continues with The Harry Skoler Quintet on Sunday, April 6th at 3 pm at the First Parish in Wayland. The Harry Skoler Quintet will be performing the music of Charles Mingus, jazz standards and a few originals. Skoler’s warm and swinging clarinet playing is featured on his latest release Living In Sound: The Music of Charles Mingus which features Christian McBride, Kenny Barron, Johnathan Blake, and Nicholas Payton in an epic tribute to the legendary jazz bassist. Skoler has garnered national and international reviews in JazzTimes, DownBeat, and Jazziz magazines. Harry, a Professor of Woodwinds at Berklee College of Music, will be joined by a stellar cast of Berklee Faculty including trumpeter Phil Grenadier, bassist Barry Smith, pianist Neil Olmstead and drummer Casey Scheuerelle.
