ARTIST NANCY CUSACK OFFERS A DEMONSTRATION AND WORKSHOP ON COLLAGRAPH PRINTMAKING
A follow-up collagraph workshop will be offered on April 19th and 20th, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Both events will be hosted at the Virginia Hoffman Studio in Downtown Sarasota at 2225 Sixth Street in the Lime Avenue Industrial District.
Printmaking Demonstration The Collagraph:
Nancy will demonstrate collagraph printing using a textured plate with non-toxic water-based inks and no solvents. The demonstration will be from 12:30 – 2 PM, during the open studio time. Participants may want to continue in a detailed workshop being offered in April.
Collagraph Monoprint Workshop:
Nancy will offer a two-day, non-toxic printmaking workshop on collagraph, with and without a press. We will learn both press and off-press approaches in the workshop, how to make textured collagraph plates, how to apply chine collé, and use stencils and masks, all with water-based inks.
Most supplies will be included. ( $100. Per day plus $10/supplies) total $210. Friday and Saturday, 10 – 3 p.m. At the end of the workshop, Nancy will share images from a recent collaboration with Cuban printmakers in Havana.
