Artist and Illustrator E.B. Lewis Discusses Book Illustration
E.B. Lewis and Lisa Zaretsky will discuss the process and the profession of book illustration.
E.B. Lewis's lyrical watercolor illustrations have appeared in more than seventy children's books and have become fine-art objects in themselves, appearing in private collections around the world. His many awards include a NY Times Best Illustrated Book Award, Kirkus Best Illustrated Book Award, Caldecott Honor Award, Golden Kite Honor Award for excellence in children's literature, and five Coretta Scott King awards. He is also a fine artist and a mentor for visual artists. "Next Year In The White House: Barack Obama's First Presidential Seder," written by Richard Michelson and illustrated by E.B. Lewis, will be released on March 4, 2025.
Lisa Zaretsky's PlayAGAIN Studio, which fosters children's sense of wonder and freedom through play, uses E.B. Lewis' books in its work.
