Art at the Heart
The California Building, a premier arts center located in the heart of the award-winning Northeast Minneapolis Arts District, will host a new event this February. Art at the Heart will be an open studio event combined with a rich selection of classes, demos, and activities - perfect for couples and friends alike! In addition to the art activities, you can enjoy music, chocolates from Groveland Confections, and warm winter beverages and food from Mojo Coffee Gallery. The event will take place on Saturday, February 10 from 12pm-6pm.
The six-story building is home to one of the largest concentrations of artists in the NE Minneapolis Arts District, and many of the artists will open their doors to showcase work in multiple mediums, giving the public a behind-the-scenes look at their process and offering original art for sale (and perfect for gifting).
Make it a date by attending one of the many classes and demos in the building throughout the day - jewelry making, woodworking classes, ceramics workshops, sketching demos, and more! All activities are family friendly and wheelchair accessible.
