Arizona Sings

Catalinas Community Chorus, northwest Tucson's pops chorus, presents "Arizona Sings". In 2012, this program was proclaimed by the state as an official part of the Arizona Centennial Celebration. The program commemorates Arizona's contributions to the musical landscape. From Ferde Grofe's' "On the Trail" to the Beatles' "When I'm 64" and Linda Ronstadt's "Blue Bayou", your ears an eyes will be treated , and perhaps surprised, by the range and depth of music from our favorite state. Tucson western music icon, Bill Ganz, is our special guest. He will take us on a musical tour through the early days of Arizona music, featuring the songs of The Sons of the Pioneers, Stan Jones, Rex Allen, and other Arizona song writers. Bill has played guitar and sung extensively throughout the country with his band, The Bill Ganz Western Band. Unfortunately, the group is no longer together, so Bill continues as a solo act. These days, you can catch him entertaining audiences at The White Stallion and Circle C Ranches in Tucson. He has performed with Rex Allen, Sr. as well as the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. It is an honor for us to welcome him. This program is guaranteed to be unique, fun and memorable. Join us Sunday, March 26 at 3:00 pm at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 11575 N. 1st Ave. in Oro Valley. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Ages 18 and under are free. There are no online sales. For information, please contact CCC at www.catalinascommunitychorus.org, by email at [email protected], or call us at 520-303-6474.
