Freelance writer and author of the recently published book “The Hudson Valley,” David Levine will relate the little-known tale of the rebellion by local farmers against the feudal domination of our area by a few powerful landlords in 1839. Learn how, inspired by the Boston Tea Party, these farmers dressed in masks and their wives’ dresses, called themselves the ‘calico Indians’ and fought against evictions, tarring and feathering their enemies.
