Anthony de Mare in Concert: A Celebration of Contemporary Piano Artistry
This retrospective program will showcase piano works from the 20th and 21st centuries, including selections from de Mare's newest recording. Over the past three and a half decades, he has inspired the creation of more than 90 new works by some of the most influential voices in contemporary music's Steve Reich, Wynton Marsalis, Jon Batiste, Nico Muhly, Meredith Monk, Frederic Rzewski and many other's each drawn to his rare ability to bring their music vividly to life.
Hailed by the Chicago Sun-Times for a presence that radiates from the stage, de Mare offers more than a performance, he creates an unforgettable encounter with sound, expression and imagination.
