The sale will feature a wide variety of vintage and new donated items, including furniture, small appliances, jewelry, glassware, linens, toys and books, plants and perennials, fall and winter women’s clothing, coats and shoes, and baby and children’s clothing. There also will be a 50/50 raffle and a bake sale.
Public donations of clean, intact items for the sale will be accepted on Tuesday, Sept. 3, from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 10 a.m. to 6.p.m. at the WCA. No bowling balls, car seats, electronics, fish tanks, bedding, bed pillows, mattresses, exercise equipment or skis will be accepted.
Proceeds from the event benefit The Woman’s Club of Albany, a non-profit organization founded in 1910 to improve conditions for women and children in Albany. The club continues that mission today, providing philanthropic and hands-on support to other non-profit groups throughout the Capital Region that offer direct services to women and children.
The Woman’s Club is the owner/steward of the historic Madison Avenue house built in 1895 for Albany clothier Joseph Steefel and his wife Hattie. The house is used for club gatherings and for community programs open to the public. The house also is available as a rental venue.
Please note that the house is ADA accessible on the first floor only.
