An Evening With Margaret Atwood and Rebecca Makkai
WBEZ and the University Club of Chicago are proud to present “An Evening with Margaret Atwood and Rebecca Makkai” on Monday, October 7. One of the most revered poets and storytellers of our age, Atwood’s works — from poetry to children's books, and graphic novels to fiction and nonfiction — have fundamentally shaped our contemporary literary landscape.
The hit television adaptations of her novels Alias Grace and The Handmaid’s Tale affirm her place in the literary canon and illustrate the continuing relevance of her work in our modern world.
Fans will hear Atwood’s insights on Paper Boat: New and Selected Poems: 1961-2023, spanning six decades of work, from her earliest beginnings to brand new poems, and charting the evolution of one of our most iconic and necessary authors.
We are proud to partner with the Poetry Foundation and Exile in Bookville, an independent bookstore located in the historic Fine Arts Building on Michigan Ave.
Each ticket includes a signed copy of Paper Boat: New and Selected Poems: 1961-2023.
