Nani Vazana is world's first Ladino songwriter. She defends the endangered Ladino language and her fascinating migration mix seeps into her songwriting, fusing the sounds of the marketplace with Flamenco drama. Landino is the language of Sephardic Jews and Nani learned Ladino from her Moroccan grandmother in hiding, as her father forbade them to speak Ladino at home. Don’t miss this free performance, the latest in a monthly series of free events in collaboration with AMP Concerts and the Friends of the Public Library.
