Amateur Radio Field Day

Throughout the country, ham radio operators will be setting up radio stations from both highly public to highly unusual locations, exchanging contact with others as a display of their emergency communications capabilities. In the past year alone, hams have made headlines with their work in providing essential communication with major hurricanes here in Florida, and to California wildfires, winter storms, Midwest floods and tornadoes and other crises which significantly impacted local cell and landline communication as well as by serving as weather spotters in the Skywarn program of the National Weather Service.
