Each June, on the second Saturday of the month, one of our most important lemonade stands of the year is held to honor the tradition of ALSF founder Alexandra “Alex” Scott’s annual summer lemonade stand. Appropriately named Alex’s “Original” Lemonade Stand, Alex’s friends and family continue to hold her stand which has evolved into a family fun event complete with food, games, crafts, face-painting, music, raffle baskets and (of course) lemonade, held at the school Alex attended, Penn Wynne Elementary School.
Amidst the fun is a beautiful butterfly release to commemorate and celebrate the lives of all children fighting cancer as well as those who have lost their life to the disease. In addition, Alex’s parents and brothers attend the event as well as several other childhood cancer heroes and their families.
