Alaska Short Films Screening & Artist Q&A
Inspired by the themes of Molly of Denali: An Alaskan Adventure, this special day showcases four short films by Princess Daazhraii Johnson (Neets’aii Gwich’in) and offers additional perspectives on Alaska Native cultures, communities, and traditions.
Between 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Shaaghan Neekwaii (Two Old Women), Gath & K’iyh: Listen to Heal, Diiyeghan Naii Taii Tr’eedaa (We Will Walk the Trail of Our Ancestors), and This Is a Story About Salmon will play on a continuous loop in the Museum’s Harnett Theater.
Q&A with Film Contributor Sydney Isaacs-Hulstine
Starting at 11 a.m., Heard Museum Chief Programming & Engagement Officer Patty Talahongva (Hopi) will moderate a discussion and audience Q&A with Sydney Isaacs-Hulstine (Tlingit), who worked on Shaaghan Neekwaii (Two Old Women). Together, they’ll explore the creative process, storytelling and answer audience questions.
While you’re here, head to the Café and Cantina for a menu inspired by the north, featuring items like blueberry milk, smoked salmon, Alaska fish & chip, and more.
