AHHHhhh: Afro House Lounge Set @ Bento's
AHHHhhh is an intimate lounge session of Deep, Afro, Jazz, and Soulful House Music curated and performed by the WAMPTRONICA Collective. Taking place Friday, January 10th from 7–10 PM at Bento’s Bar & Grill (555 Pleasant St, New Bedford), the evening offers a refined, groove-driven atmosphere rooted in dance music tradition, culture, and community.
WAMPTRONICA is a trail-blazing underground dance music collective from the Southcoast that—alongside New Moon Dance Party—has been revitalizing the regional House Music scene at the grassroots level, with events throughout the Southcoast, Cape Cod, and the greater Boston area. Their sound is deeply influenced by both New York and Boston House lineages, with collective members being alumni of legendary spaces such as Paradise Garage, Libations, and The Shelter in New York, and The Loft, Hub Club, and Soul Revival sessions in Boston.
The collective hosts the weekly radio show FROM the UNDERGROUND, airing Tuesdays at 8 PM on WNB One Radio and Fridays at 9 PM on Lemonadio, with podcasts available on all major streaming platforms. WAMPTRONICA’s original music is available across all streaming services, including the regional hit “Grown Folks Party” featuring Navalle “Chops” Turner. They are also producing an upcoming audio anthology in collaboration with New Bedford–based spoken-word artists and vocalists.
AHHHhhh is a space to unwind, connect, and experience House Music as lounge culture, dance floor memory, and living Black musical history—deep, intentional, and uncompromising.
