AHA! Breaking Waves: Women in Science

Did you know that a woman scientist is behind the world’s most comprehensive blue whale database? For three decades, Dr. Diane Gendron has studied the largest animal on the planet and gained a rich understanding of the whales’ behavior, growth, breeding patterns, and health. Learn more about Dr. Gendron’s research and blue whales in general by watching our Blue Whales: Return of the Giants 3D film for FREE for FREE before it leaves the New Bedford Whaling Museum on March 17th. The film provides an unforgettable window into the lives of these animals and the extremes scientists must endure to study them. Free showtimes at 4:00 PM, 5:00 PM, and 6:00 PM only on AHA! Night. Seating in our theater is first come, first serve. You don't need to register any advance. What is AHA!? AHA! (Art, History, Architecture) provides a free platform for New Bedford’s creative community to showcase their talents collectively, making arts, culture, and creative expression accessible to all. Learn more about AHA! and explore the full schedule of activities online at ahanewbedford.org.
