he 2026 edition marks a bold evolution of the AFRIMMA experience, transforming into a full-scale music festival, cultural showcase, and awards celebration, bringing together Africa’s biggest stars, emerging talent, industry leaders, media, influencers, and fans from across the world. The return follows AFRIMMA's milestone 10th Anniversary celebration, which marked a decade of honoring the remarkable achievements of African artists and the global rise of African music.
This year’s festival is proudly powered by Visit Dallas, reinforcing the city’s growing role as a global hub for African entertainment and cultural exchange.
Celebrating the Sound of Africa
AFRIMMA continues its mission of celebrating the rich and diverse soundscape of the African continent as AFRIMMA's platform remains dedicated to amplifying African voices on a global stage, uniting artists and fans through a shared love of music, culture, and identity.
Over the past decade, AFRIMMA has recognized and celebrated many of African music's most influential artists and global icons. Its stage has honored internationally acclaimed stars including Rema, Diamond Platnumz, Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, and Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Erykah Badu, among many others. The awards have become synonymous with excellence, recognizing artists whose work has shaped the global appreciation of African music and culture.
A Festival-First Experience
Unlike previous editions where the awards ceremony was the central focus, the 2026 return places the festival experience at the heart of AFRIMMA, creating a full-day cultural celebration featuring:
Live performances from top African and international artists
A vibrant vendor village showcasing African fashion, food, art, and lifestyle brands
A curated fashion presentation highlighting African designers and creative expression
Cultural activations and immersive fan experiences
The AFRIMMA Awards ceremony presented at the conclusion of the festival, honoring outstanding achievements in African music
A Global Platform for African Excellence
Since its inception in 2014 in Dallas, Texas, AFRIMMA has grown into one of the leading global platforms for African music, consistently spotlighting internationally acclaimed artists and emerging voices shaping the continent’s sound.
“AFRIMMA has always been about unity—bringing together the diverse sounds, cultures, and people of Africa under one global stage,” said Anderson Abigwe, Founder of AFRIMMA. “After two years away, our return is not just a comeback, it is a reaffirmation of our mission to celebrate African excellence and share it with the world. Dallas has become a home for this movement, and we are proud to continue building a bridge between Africa and the diaspora through music, fashion, and culture.”
A Celebration of Growth and Global Impact
The return of AFRIMMA comes at a time when African music continues to dominate global charts, sell out international arenas, and influence mainstream culture worldwide. The festival stands as a testament to the growth, resilience, and global impact of African creativity.
