Africa in Our Blood: Came for the Animals, Stayed for the People

SURF CITY – Tanzania is a country rich with culture, wildlife, and beautiful landscapes. Take a virtual journey there with the program, “Africa in Our Blood: Came for the Animals, Stayed for the People,” at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 15 at the Long Beach Island Branch of the Ocean County Library. Join Jill Voshell and Dr. Michael Rubinstein as they share their unique experiences, adventures, and beautiful photos of Tanzania, Africa. Dr. Rubenstein is a University of Pennsylvania neurologist who serves FAME (Foundation for African Medicine and Education) in his global health practice. Jill Vishell works at a local international school as an early childhood education specialist. During free time, they immerse themselves in the local community and go on safaris. This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Island Library. The Friends are volunteers who help preserve, strengthen, and support the library through supporting branch activities, sponsoring fundraisers, and attending community and civic events as library advocates. Visit theoceancountylibrary.org/oclfriends or stop by your local OCL branch to learn how to get involved. Registration is required for this free program.
