ACE - Western World Religions-Islam: The Religion of Perfect Submission
This course begins with an examination of the culture and religion of Arabia before the birth of Muhammad in the 6th century A.D. as crucial background knowledge for understanding the significance of his message and role as the "final prophet" for the human race. After tracing the establishment of the Islamic community with its main divisions and the compilation of the Quran, we will examine the key teachings of Islam concerning God, creation, humans as caliphs and servants, the problem of negligence and unbelief, and Islam as a path of knowledge and transformation.
