Three films fit neatly into this category, ranging from 1954 to 2013. They are: (a) "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow" starring Sophia Loren and Marcello Mastroianni; (b) "Bread and Tulips" starring Bruno Ganz and Licia Maglietta; (c) "Viva La Liberta" starring Tony Sorvillo and Valeria Tedeschi. Loren and Mastroianni engage us in three clever escapades that won an Academy Award for "Best Foreign Language Film." Bruno and Licia offer us a screwball comedy set in Venice with delightfully romantic overtones and Toni Sorvillo portrays identical twins, one a burnt-out political leader who disappears, and the other, a refugee from an insane asylum who takes over his brother's political post. Both brothers were in love with Valeria's character. Each film is guaranteed to please the viewer.
