The 4th Annual Independence Cup Rocket League Tournament brings together gamers of all skill levels to raise awareness and support for the Ability360 Sports & Fitness Center programs.
“We continue to be blown away by the support and enthusiasm from the gaming community,” said Chris Rodriguez, president & CEO of Ability360. “Last year, teams from around the world came together to compete, connect, and celebrate inclusive gaming. The tournament is more than just competition — it’s an opportunity to showcase how adaptive technology and community can break barriers and create opportunities for people of all abilities.”
Rocket League and Power Soccer share a common theme of playing soccer in non-traditional ways. However, Power Soccer is specifically designed for individuals with disabilities, and players use power wheelchairs. While Rocket League has become a mainstream esports title with a competitive scene and professional players, Power Soccer has also gained recognition as an adaptive sports game, with international tournaments and organizations deciding to promote the sport.
The virtual tournament is free to enter and pits players against each other in a 3v3 Double Elimination setup. Players with disabilities will be playing video games, both competitive and casual.
Registration for the Independence Cup Rocket League Tournament is available at ability360.org/360esports.
Q90 is the presenting sponsor, and Link Logistics is a booster sponsor. Corporate sponsorships are still available and range from $1,000 to $10,000. All funds raised will support programs at Ability360’s Sports & Fitness Center.
