AAUW Somerset Hills 74th Annual Huge Used Book Sale Starting 8/1 at the Bernardsville Middle School

The AAUW Somerset Hills Used Book Sale has been a part of the local community for many years. This sale is the Branch fundraiser and a wonderful service project to the community.  Net proceeds from the sale go to AAUW scholarships, local libraries and other supported charities.  It is a terrific way to recycle used books and to foster camaraderie of fellow members and meet other book enthusiasts! This book sale garners customers coming from Connecticut to Maryland and every state in between. We are known for sorting of tens of thousands of books, variety, quality and reasonable pricing. Local community and student volunteers needed! This is a great way for students to get their required service hours. The Book Sale is held at the Bernardsville Middle School, 141 Seney Drive, Bernardsville.  Book Sale dates are Thursday and Friday, 8/1-2, from 12:00pm until 8:00pm and Saturday, 8/3, from 9:00am until 3:00pm. Book donations are accepted at the Bernardsville Middle School loading dock from Monday, July 22 through Thursday, July 25 and Monday, July 29 from 9:00 to 3:00. We do not accept the following donations (unless they are unique in some way or one of a kind):  reference sets, encyclopedias, textbooks, magazines, VHS or cassette tapes. We do accept DVDs and CDs. Both hard cover and soft cover books in the main room are priced at $1.00 except for the mass market paperbacks (Pocketbooks) which are priced at $.50. Smaller children’s books are priced at $.50. Single DVDs are $1.00 and single CDs are $.50. On the first day, Thursday, August 1, there is a 25% premium on books in the main room.  Rare and choice books are in a separate room. There is no admission charge, however, admission numbers will be passed out starting at 9:00 on Thursday.  We offer 25 places for serious buyers to hold the books they will be purchasing. Scanning is allowed at the tables only. Sorting all the donated books is the KEY to making our Book Sale the big success that it is.  Our sorting effort transforms tables full of used books into an interesting book store experience. For more information, call/text Teri Passarello (908-313-8421) or Bonnie Gould (908 647-2791) or email us at [email protected].
