A Docent's View of Conservation at the Turtle Back Zoo
Kimberle will share her experiences and enthusiasm as a trained volunteer at the zoo through an overview of the zoo’s programs, her personal experiences, photos, and hands on zoo stuff to touch! She will also explain what inspired her to become a zoo Docent and how to become an active volunteer.
The zoo located in South Mountain Reservation opened in 1963 and has evolved to become a respected place for animal conservation and education. In 2006 it received accreditation by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association, and means that the zoo adheres to the highest standard for zoos in the country.
All are welcome, light refreshments will be served.
