NASHVILLE FIRE HOCKEY V. METRO NASHVILLE POLICE HOCKEY
First Responders. Big Hearts. Bigger Goals.
Nashville Fire Hockey is more than a hockey team — it's a group of first responders who trade turnout gear for skates to raise money, lift spirits, and honor heroes through charity games and tournaments, rallying support for:
• First responders battling illness or injury
• Families of fallen heroes
• Children and families in need right here in our community
The team proudly operates under the Nashville Fire Fighters Association Foundation and Nashville Fire Fighters IAFF Local 140, making every game and every dollar raised part of a 501(c)(3) mission to help others.
Skating to Remember
"Our motto is simple: We play in honor of the colleagues we’ve lost — locally and across the country — and we’ll never stop showing up for their families. For over a decade, our signature event has been the Annual 9/11 Memorial Game, a high-energy rivalry between Nashville Fire and Metro Nashville Police. It’s our way to “Never Forget” the heroes we lost on September 11, 2001, and to turn the passion of the game into real help for those in need. Every ticket sold, every puck dropped, every cheer in the stands makes a difference. Whether it’s helping a firefighter through recovery, supporting a grieving family, or partnering with other charities, we step up — on and off the ice. With the unwavering support of the Nashville Fire Department and Nashville Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 140, we’re building something bigger than hockey. Because when our community calls, we answer — skates on, sticks ready."

MORE WAYS TO SUPPORT

This tradition unites firefighters, recruits, union leaders, nd the community to support those living with neuromuscular diseases such as Muscular Dystrophy and ALS. Personnel from the Nashville Fire Department will hit the streets at various locations with boots in hand, asking pedestrians, motorists, customers, and other passersby to donate to MDA through September 12th, beginning at 8am each day. With the Fill The Boot Campaign, funds raised help MDA to drive life-saving research, provide vital medical care through a nationwide care network, and support families with resources, programs and hope.
