8000 Days of Retirement Expo

Retirement is no longer a brief period between the end of a career and the end of life—it can span 8,000 days, or more than 20 years. As individuals face this extended life stage, a free community event is being held to help navigate its many complexities. The 8000 Days of Retirement Expo will take place Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at New Life Church, 3690 N Stygler Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230. Open to the public, the half-day expo will feature expert-led panel discussions, resource vendor tables, and on-site health screenings. Attendees will gain valuable insights into financial planning, housing transitions to community or home-based resources, Medicare, and dementia safety and prevention. A free boxed lunch will be provided to the first 100 registrants. This year’s “Lunch and Learn” featured presenter is Dr. Brian Browne, President of Cognitive Care Management and founder of Neuro NutritionTM, who will deliver an engaging presentation on the latest scientific discoveries in Alzheimer’s and dementia prevention. A nationally recognized nutritional neuroscientist with more than 20 years of healthcare experience, Dr. Browne specializes in lifestyle-based interventions to reduce the risk of cognitive decline. The event will be moderated by Assisted Living Locators, with gold sponsor Kristel Smith of Coldwell Banker Realty and silver sponsors including Walnut Trace, Brookwood Point and The Hartford National Church Residences, Edward Jones, and A Place At Home. Miriam Bogard, owner and senior care advisor of Assisted Living Locators East Columbus, created the event to address the real-life concerns of today’s aging population and their families. “Retirement today is not a short phase—it’s an extended chapter of life that requires thoughtful planning. I created this event specifically to educate those preparing for retirement, adults who are sandwiched between raising a family and caring for aging loved ones, and those who are already living it,” said Bogard. “Whether you’re planning for day one or day 5,000 of retirement, this expo offers practical tools, expert connections, and community resources to support your journey.” To register and learn more, visit: http://www.8000daysofretirement.com/
