5Dollar5K
Registration is now open for the 5Dollar5K slated for Saturday, Oct. 12 at 8:30 a.m. in Bluemont Park, Arlington. The non-timed 5K is just $5 for runners 13 years and older. A 1K Fun Run is free to children 12 years and younger. Light refreshments and lawn games to follow the run, along with swag giveaways from organizer Comunidad, a local nonprofit that equips and engages locally rooted leaders in the Seven Corners neighborhood of Falls Church.

Founded in 2018, Comunidad provides literacy-skills-building programs for elementary school age children throughout the year; youth mentoring programs after school for youth; and leadership development programs for adults, all aimed at bolstering the strength and confidence of a community of leaders.
