50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE 23RD STREET MURAL
Come celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Austin’s “first” mural - the Austintatious 23rd St. Mural located at Guadalupe and 23rd Street in the People’s Renaissance Market on Saturday, April 1st!
We will be turning on the 23rdStreetMural Experience, a website all about the mural, in dedication to Austin’s first mural’s 50th Anniversary. Within the site you can discover and watch 10 short films about many of the characters painted on the mural while reading another dozen entires. It’s a snapshot into the people, places, and collective culture that made Austin special in the first place.
There will be a group photo at the Mural taking place at 12 PM and the party will continue at TexPopATX featuring free live music from The Uranium Savages and Big Mon at 7:09 PM. Bring a lawn chair!
