44th Annual Necronomicon Tampa Convention

The 44th Annual Necronomicon Tampa returns on September 26-28, 2025. An iconic gathering for fans of science fiction, fantasy, horror, cosplay, and gaming, Necronomicon Tampa is a three-day event that attracts authors, creators, filmmakers, artists, gamers, and fans from around the globe. Necronomicon is a not-for-profit convention run by dedicated fans. Necronomicon’s profits are donated to Kids and Canines, a 501c3 non-profit that helps disadvantaged elementary children and at-risk teens through interaction with trained dogs. Come and meet the dogs at Necronomicon! Location: Necronomicon Tampa will take place at the Embassy Suites Tampa USF located on the University of South Florida campus: Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa USF Near Busch Gardens 3705 Spectrum Blvd Tampa, FL 33612 Parking is free for everyone attending Necronomicon Tampa. Admission is $70 at the door. Single-day memberships are $35 for Friday, $35 for Saturday and $25 for Sunday. Individuals who want only admission to the Tampa Bay Gaming Dojo x Necro: Fighting Game Tournament on Saturday will be admitted for $15 plus $10 per tournament entered. Meet the authors! Learn more about writing in programs on our writer's track! - It is a smaller convention with roughly 1000 fans in attendance, so there is much less crowding and waiting in line than at large conventions. - It is a not-for-profit convention run by fan volunteers for the enjoyment of other fans. - No nickel and diming. There are plenty of things to buy but very few extra charges. For example, our Guests of Honor do not charge for autographs. - Our charity photo booth on Saturday provides a free sitting with our four professional photographers and you can walk away with all of your photos on a USB drive in 30 minutes for only $40. Adult-themed shows, games, panels, and products will be on display for all the freaks that come out at this two night extravaganza. Age verification is required for access to this part of the convention area. Cryptid Cabaret: See the dazzling sights of the Cryptid Burlesque show, hosted by none other than Alistair Graves and Swamp Betty Entertainment. Exclusive Art Show: Featuring top artists, from visual art to conceptual design, this exhibit will showcase all manner of stunning works, most of which are available to purchase. Special Guest Appearances: Authors, filmmakers, and industry guests from the worlds of fandom, near and far. Key Highlights: Guests of Honor: Timothy Zahn, Hugo Award-winning author of over 65 novels, including 11 Star Wars Expanded Universe novels featuring his creation, Grand Admiral Thrawn. Seanan McGuire, Hugo Award-winning author of over 70 books. She is known for her urban fantasy novels. She uses the pseudonym Mira Grant to write science fiction/horror and the pseudonym A. Deborah Baker to write the "Up-and-Under" children's portal fantasy series. She also writes poetry, comics, and has published five music CDs. Both Guests of Honor will take part in multiple events, including panels, and book signings. Panels & Discussions: Engage with creators and experts through dynamic panel discussions and Q&A sessions on topics ranging from science, kung fu, writing, and literature to popular culture, and everything in between. Workshops: Fans can participate in hands-on workshops, providing attendees with tools to tap into their own creative potential. Vendor Marketplace: Explore a curated selection of artists, vendors, and creators, offering unique merchandise, art, books, comics, and collectibles related to the genres of horror, fantasy, and science fiction. Gaming: Over 48 hours of open gaming with a robust schedule of boardgames and Tabletop Role-Playing Games.
